Q: Are the products from Greenland natural?
A:For all of our products, we use wherever possible natural and organic ingredients from sustainable sources. Where nature cannot provide the ingredients needed for organic skincare, we use safe, synthetic alternatives developed with modern techniques and research.
Q: Are Greenland products safe?
A: The products for body care and skincare are safe. We take no risks when it comes to the health and well-being of the customer. All products and ingredients meet the latest requirements and standards that apply for use on the body.
Q: What is the environmental position of Greenland?
A: All our products meet strict quality – and environmental – requirements. We continuously work hard to use natural materials that are not damaging to the environment or for your skin.
Q: Are the products from Greenland dermatologically tested?
A: The Greenland products are dermatologically tested by independent laboratories that meet strict regulations,.
Q: Are there ingredients from animal sources in the products of Greenland?
A: It is the mission of Greenland to use no ingredients that come from animals, and that applies to all of our skincare products. For some products, we use small amounts of ingredients from animal sources, such as lanoline (wool grease) and beeswax (honeycomb), due to the unique properties of these things. These ingredients are not used in all products from Greenland, and thus make up only a small part of the ingredients in our skincare products. If you want to know more, look at the ingredient list on the packaging or contact us.
Q: Does Greenland test its products on animals?
A: No, we never test our products on animals, and we also don’t outsource any animal testing to third parties. We believe that there are enough safe, effective quality ingredients available that do not have to be tested on animals.
Q: Are Greenland products suitable for vegans?
A: Only the body butters and hand creams of Fruit Emotions, Fruit Extracts and Milky are not suitable for vegans as well as the lip balms. All other Greenland products are well suited for vegans.
Q: Is there gluten in the products from Greenland?
A: No there are no gluten in the Greenland products. On all packaging of Greenland products, the ingredients are listed. They’re presented on the label with their INCI name. INCI names are internationally standardized names for ingredients in cosmetics.
Q: Does Greenland also have samples of their products?
A: We have samples available of various products. We get many requests by e-mail for small versions of products. Unfortunately, we cannot meet them. If you visit one of our stores, you can try out the products by asking for test versions. Are you placing an order via our webshop, and would you like to receive a sample of a particular skincare product? Then indicate that at the time of your order in the field for Remarks. We will then make every effort to fulfil your request.
Q: How long is the shelf-life of Greenland products?
A: According to law, we must indicate the expiration date on the packaging if a product lasts less than 30 months. Since 11 March 2005, it is a legal requirement to put the PAO (Period After Opening) symbol on the package if a product then lasts less than 30 months. Therefore, it’s clear how long you can keep using a skincare product after opening. The shelf life is tested during the development according to internationally accepted methods. For most unopened products, we guarantee a minimal shelf life of 30 months; the PAO symbol is on these products. On a limited number of products with a shorter shelf life, the best-before date is indicated.
Q: What is the percentage of natural ingredients in the Greenland products?
A: Although most skincare products from Greenland include a high percentage of natural ingredients, that percentage varies by product. For the Fruit Emotions range, for example, we want at least 95% of the ingredients to be from natural sources, and for the lip balms, that’s at least 98%.
Q: Can I store the Greenland products in the refrigerator?
A: Yes, you can store Greenland products in the refrigerator very well. Some products are semi-liquid and are softer at higher temperatures for that reason. In warm weather, it’s then advisable to store the products in a dark, cool place or in the refrigerator.
Q: How can it be claimed that the Shower Foam from Greenland is gas-free when butane is one of the ingredients?
A: The packaging of the shower foam consists of a sack containing the product, and around the sack, gas is used to push the product out of the bottle. Generally speaking, this is propane or butane, but we use air to get the product out of the bottle. In the product itself, there is a bit of butane so that when the product comes out of the bottle, it will form a foam. This gas is thus not used as the propellant gas, but as a foaming agent.
